遠野産ホップを100％使用したヘイジーペールエールです。4種類のホップを、自社加工のルプリンパウダー、フレッシュホップ、ペレットで使い分け、それぞれの特性を活かしました。ジューシーな柑橘のニュアンスと、雑味のない余韻が特徴で、思わずおかわりしたくなる味わいを目指しています。ホップにこだわるGOOD HOPSらしいヘイジーの探求は、これからも続いていきます。

GOOD HOPSを立ち上げてから、「人気のヘイジースタイルはつくらないのですか？」とよく聞かれてきました。そうした声をいただく中でも、私たちはまず、自社の新品種ホップや非加熱ルプリンが持つ個性や特徴を理解することに取り組んできました。

今年の春に醸造を開始して以降、20回以上の仕込みを重ねる中で、各ホップへの理解が深まり、満を持してヘイジーを仕込むことにしました。日本産ホップ100％でヘイジーをつくれるのは、GOOD HOPSならではだと考えています。

ただし、これが完成形だとは考えていません。GOOD HOPSらしいヘイジーとは何かを探る試みは、これからも続いていきます。早くも来月には第二弾のリリースを予定しています。

「HAZY GOOD」という名前には、私たちらしいヘイジーとは何か、その正解がまだ定まっていない、探求の途中にあるGOOD HOPSのヘイジーである、という意味を込めています。いつか「GOOD HAZY」と名乗れるような一杯をつくれるように、私たちの栽培、醸造、研究はこれからも続いていきます。

HOPS: Tono-grown Cascade, Tono-grown No Wind, Tono-grown IBUKI, Tono-grown Saaz

This is a hazy pale ale brewed with 100% Tono-grown hops. Four hop varieties are used in different forms—our in-house processed lupulin powder, fresh hops, and pellets—allowing each to express its unique character. Juicy citrus notes and a clean, smooth finish define the beer, creating a drinkable profile that invites another sip. GOOD HOPS’ exploration of hazy styles, rooted in a deep commitment to hops, will continue to evolve.

Since launching GOOD HOPS, we have often been asked,
“Are you going to brew a hazy beer, given how popular the style is?”

Even as we received those questions, our priority was first to deepen our understanding of the character and qualities of our own newly developed hop varieties and our non-heat-processed lupulin.

Since beginning brewing this spring, we have completed more than twenty batches. Through this process, our understanding of each hop has steadily grown, and we felt the time was right to finally brew a hazy beer. We believe that being able to brew a hazy style using 100% Japanese-grown hops is something unique to GOOD HOPS.

That said, we do not consider this to be a finished form. Our exploration of what defines a “GOOD HOPS–style hazy” will continue. In fact, we are already planning the release of a second installment as early as next month.

The name “HAZY GOOD” reflects this mindset. It represents a hazy beer that is still in the process of exploration—one for which the answer to what makes it truly “ours” has not yet been fully defined. With the goal of someday brewing a beer worthy of being called “GOOD HAZY,” our work in cultivation, brewing, and research will continue.
